Case 01 · Chicago, 1952

The Last Call

At 2:30 in the morning, the bartender at the Blue Heron found the owner's office torn apart. The safe was hanging open. Vincent Hale, the man who ran the best jazz club on State Street, was gone.

The Field team is already at the scene. HQ has the precinct files. Sunrise is at 6:52. Find Vince before it comes up.

Two sides of one case

Pick your side.

With two players, each takes a side. With a group, split into two teams. The case only cracks when the two sides share what they've found.

Work the scene

Follow the trail: Vince's wrecked office, the club floor downstairs, the alley out back, and wherever they took him. Each place has a few things to search and one lock that gets you to the next, and most of those locks need something only HQ knows.

Run the records

You're at the precinct records desk. Personnel files, suspect sheets, the city directory and a phone line. The Field team will need you to look things up, and you'll need their eyes on the scene.

Before you start

What you'll need.

  • One device per team. Laptop, tablet or phone, any modern browser.

The clock stopped at 1:40.
Yours starts when you say so.
